Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art
by James Nestor
An inspiring adventure into the power of life that's free and hiding right beneath your nose.

“The perfect breath is this: Breathe in for about 5.5 seconds, then exhale for 5.5 seconds. That’s 5.5 breaths a minute for a total of about 5.5 liters of air.”

The Baghavad Gita
I remember this text setting my soul alight when I came across an old worn copy in a used bookstore in Quito Ecuador. This quote was posted in the yoga studio where I first taught at in Xela, Guatemala.

“You have the right to work, but for the work's sake only. You have no right to the fruits of work. Desire for the fruits of work must never be your motive in working. Never give way to laziness, either.
Perform every action with you heart fixed on the Supreme Lord. Renounce attachment to the fruits. Be even-tempered in success and failure: for it is this evenness of temper which is meant by yoga.
