Hi, I’m Dr. Kent. Before we begin, let me introduce myself.
I’m a holistic chiropractor using remote kinesiology to help people release trauma, reclaim their energy, and restore their lives. Trauma bound in our bodies keeps us perpetually in stress physiology, and when we’re in stress nothing works. It eventually manifests as physical conditions, repeated stress patterns, and limiting beliefs. I help clients release the root cause of their condition so they can heal and thrive.
Now onto the article.

We’re in a battle with time…but it doesn’t have to be this way
There is a painful irony. The more we focus on time, the less of it there is. And the less time we think we have, the more we pay for it. Financially, physically and psychologically. I see it in clients and painted in the world around me - chronic stress is killing us. But you don’t need me to tell you how stressful it is to battle time; you’re living it.
You don’t have to live like this. There is another way.
By changing my relationship with time I’ve discovered that everything can get done without the constant stress of racing the clock, all while leaving space for creativity, serendipity, and rest. This can happen for you too.
What I’m talking about is the bold shift from time to timelessness.
It’s simple, but not everyone is ready. It demands the courage to take full responsibility for your present experience. But I promise you that it’s worth it. By switching your focus from time to timelessness you too can discover the truth: you have all the time in the world.
It may sound too good to be true, but it’s not. It’s more real than the traumatic relationship to time that you’ve inherited from the world around you. Time scarcity is actually what’s false. You’ll notice that every time you’re stressed about time, you’re disconnected from the present moment. Your thoughts are caught up in something other than what you’re doing. You’re lost in what Ekhart Tolle describes as psychological time.
It’s a symptom of habitually leaving the real world and getting lost in the made up world of the mind. A mind equipped with a negativity bias that’s always priming you for vigilance, scarcity, and stress.
This is how the world relates to time. Distracted and overwhelmed, there’s never enough of it and it’s always running away from you. It shifts your physiology into a perpetual state of stress. As a chiropractor I see it every day in my clients, manifested as all sorts of physical, mental, and emotional problems.
When you switch to timelessness, all of this changes.
Timelessness is how time actually works.
Timelessness is how we actually experience the world. Our minds may think of time as a fixed entity that’s always running out, but our direct experience is totally different. In reality, time is totally malleable based on how we relate to it. As Einstein famously said “When you sit with a nice girl for two hours you think it’s only a minute, but when you sit on a hot stove for a minute you think it’s two hours. That’s relativity”.
No doubt you’ve experienced this yourself. Can you recall a time when you were so lost in what you were doing that time completely disappeared? You were in flow (in fact, the researcher who coined the term “flow” included timelessness as one of its essential components). That’s timelessness.
You know it’s possible, but until now that experience has only been incidental, or isolated to select activities. What I’m proposing is the possibility of adopting this model of time intentionally, completely and wholeheartedly.
The more you do this, the more time you have. Because what Joseph Campbell said is true, “Eternity is not a long time”. Two minutes of clock time can feel like hours. With practice your days can be filled with pockets of eternity. It really does feel like magic. But this is how time really works.
Make the Switch
We waste so much of our energy in our futile battle against time. Getting right with time is one of the most important things you can do to improve your happiness and well-being. When you stop fighting time then all the energy you were wasting in rushing, worrying, and complaining becomes available to you.
You can start with just that - every time you find yourself rushing, worrying, and complaining about time, notice and pause. Remember, it doesn’t have to be this way. Every time you disinvest from time scarcity and direct your energy to timelessness you are releasing time trauma, reprogramming your subconscious, and reclaiming your energy.
It takes intentional practice because what keeps you fighting time is subconscious trauma stored in the body. So if you’re serious about this switch then the next step is to work with a mindbody practitioner like myself who can help you release those patterns. Below is are links for my free course “State Change” and to book a free discovery call with me.
With continued practice you can experience what John O’Donahue was pointing to when he wrote “I’d love to live life like a river flows, carried by the surprise of its own unfolding”. You really can live like this.
I don’t think that we can afford not to - as the world becomes noisier and faster it feels like the collective is gasping for breath. Being around someone who’s at peace with time is a lifeline of peace and sanity. You can be that person. For yourself, and for everyone around you.
In timelessness,
Dr. Kent
