The conscious us wants to live a beautiful, inspired life. But subconsciously, there are parts of us that want to stay small, stuck, sick, and miserable. It’s the Upper Limit Problem—deep down, we’re scared of truly thriving because it means things would change. It’s an essential truth to familiarize ourselves with if we want to create, connect, and heal.

What Are the Three Doubts Holding You Back?

Our mind is only 5% conscious. The other 95% lives in the body, where we store limiting beliefs from old trauma, undigested emotions, and chronic stress. These form a glass ceiling we bump against every time we feel limitless—whether we reach radical inspiration, touch true peace, or fall lavishly in love with life.

These limiting beliefs manifest as a body sensation and a voice in your head, pulling you out of the present experience of thriving. It often sounds like this:

I can’t possibly deserve to fully enjoy this right now because…

  1. I have to do something.

  2. There’s not enough ____.

  1. Something is wrong.

Reclaim Your Energy with Conscious Awareness

When we’re not attentive, these three doubts steal us from the present elevated emotion, dragging us into familiar, unhelpful patterns of thoughts, feelings, and emotions that reinforce those limiting beliefs. But this is also an opportunity for trauma release.

When we become aware of the doubt as it surfaces and feel the sensation in the body without reacting, that pattern unwinds. Emotions are physiologically represented in the body as a flood of chemicals that change your state, rewire your brain, and alter your DNA expression. They only last seconds to minutes. Each time you disinvest from that old doubt, you reclaim the energy bound up in it—this is reprogramming your subconscious and releasing trauma, little layer by little layer.

Then, you can turn your awareness to savoring and amplifying the present moment. Oftentimes, you’ll feel your nervous system respond with a yawn, swallow, sigh, or subtle body sensations. This is retraining your body and mind to align with the frequency of thriving, a core part of subconscious healing.

A Two-Minute Practice for Mind-Body Healing

To create lasting changes in your physiology, you only need to practice this for two minutes at a time. It might feel like an eternity experientially, but in clock time, it’s very short. Committing to this daily practice gradually shifts your nervous system out of old limiting beliefs tied to trauma and conditioning, creating the possibility for sustainable thriving.

How to Practice the Frequency of Thriving Every Day

It’s simple, but not always easy. All it demands is the awareness to notice when these patterns arise, the courage to face them head-on, and the audacity to trust in your greatness. This mind-body healing approach is especially powerful for 30-somethings ready to release the past and step into their potential.

Here’s to thriving. We deserve it.
